What has changed films forever?
So, here is a general discussion for us all. What if anything, has redefined the institution of motion pictures? What technology, actor, or setting has changed the way we watch and enjoy films?
the proliferation of home entertainment(vhs, dvd, youtube) has, in essence, shrank what we think of as a mass audience. gone are the days of the uber-blockbuster(i.e the films that EVERYONE has seen like star wars) i mean shit, i havent even seen transformers and i love michael bay....yeah i said it.
let alone the lord of the rings, which despite its worldwide takings, really only filled in a niche.
Since Troy's is the biggest one EVER...I will go with my favorite.
3-D
It's been around for decades and still doesn't get old for me. I am excited to see how James Cameron does with Avatar. The possiblities are endless...and it might be the only way for George Lucas to get more money from me for Star Wars (re-re-release of the original trilogy).
